Asua Ofosu currently serves as a Policy Advisor for the Estell Group, LLC (EG). At EG, Asua is responsible for coordinating, researching and implementing policy and advocacy eﬀorts for client issues. She also assists with ensuring oﬃce operations run smoothly.
Prior to joining EG, Asua was an Adjunct Professor in the Department of History and Political Science at Delaware State University where she taught Applied Politics in which students learned about advocacy and lobbying. A seasoned government
relations professional, Asua was the Special Assistant for Social Policy for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). In that capacity, Asua coordinated NASW’s input on federal policy initiatives, supported the Social Work Policy Institute in planning and implementing symposia and served as a liaison to the Congressional Social Work Caucus. During her tenure at NASW, Asua also served as a health lobbyist and Manager of Government Relations. She managed a variety of health issues ranging from health disparities, genetics, HIV/AIDS, aging, and cancer. She also served as the GR representative to the Social Work Reinvestment Initiative and focused on social work safety and social work research issue areas. Prior to her work at NASW, Asua was a health lobbyist and grassroots manager for a number of health care organizations including the American Thoracic Society and the Health Care Practice Group of Smith, Bucklin and Associates. Asua is a former Hill staﬀer having worked for Congressman Elijah Cummings (D-MD).
Raised in Dover, DE, Asua holds a Juris Doctor from Widener University and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Delaware State University. She is a member of the Washington Government Relations Group, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Links, Inc.
